Sold!

There's nothing an artist likes to see more than that little red dot on the sign next to her piece in a gallery, since that means it is sold. My quilt, Poppies, had been juried into the show at the Whistler House Museum of Art "From Fine Art to Fiber: Interpreting the Masters" in Lowell, MA. When I walked into the room yesterday for the opening reception I could see my quilt across the room and that little red dot. I was so pleased. And even better, I met the woman who bought it.
I had a wonderful weekend in Lowell with two dear friends, Debbie and Benedicte. I will post more tomorrow and the next day about the shows (They were at the Brush Gallery) and show more pictures. Right now I have to make up the CD's for another show where the entry is due this week.

Congratulations Norma - a sale is a wonderful thing, on top of the creative side of things.
And to add to the beautiful quilt is the jacket you are wearing! My friend and I here in Australia have been emailing back and forth debating about the surface design used to create the patterning. Any enlightenment would be welcome.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I don't have an email address for you, Elizabeth,so I'll answer your question about the jacket here. I purchased it that morning at the NE Quilt Museum store. It is tapestry and reversible. The other side is much more subtle. Usually when we go to Lowell it is very hot but this year was delightful and I was able to wear a jacket.

That piece has always been a favorite.....I"m not surprised that it found a new home. You would love being here in Asheville....the wearable art is just amazing. We walked by a store in the Village and I said, "those jackets look like Norma". Shall I pick up a couple for you?? Sue

Back from England and catching up. Congratulations, Norma - and actually, to all of you who were in the shows. The awards/sales were indeed icing on the cake! Maybe I'll get to Lowell next year.
