It's a woody perennial shrub called Caryopteris. This variety is Blue Mist. It starts blooming in late summer and well into fall. The shrub is covered with flowers (and bees) and is drought and deer resistant. A great plant.
Did you take this at dusk? I love the way it's set against the darkness. And thanks for telling us what it is. I'm going to try to remember this.
