I'm very fond of Hens & Chicks, a garden succulent. I took some photos and then played with the colors in Photoshop Elements. I printed them out on fabric and combined them with my hand-dyes and hand painted fabrics to make this little quilt. It will go to the Silent Auction at Quilt Festival in Houston in October.
The full size quilt and details are shown below.

It's beautiful! I love what you did with the colors...I haven't done much with Photoshop in that way...makes me want to go and play! Thanks for sharing
It's beautiful! I have late in life discovered the beauty of succulents -- and using them in this way really shows them off well.
The colors in your altered photos go really great with your hand dyed fabrics. Great quilting too.
Aren't succulents great? I made a succulent quilt a couple years ago for the Quiltart Grab Bag Challenge.

love it.. the color is great, quilting is great.
I love what you did with the photo. I have a collection of photos I've taken of some neat succulents, and hadn't figured out how to use them. Love the color changes.
Norma, I love this little piece. I like playing in Photoshop too, and what you've done is wonderful. However, I must say that your quilting is really what makes the quilt. Beautiful!
Aren't digital cameras and photo manipulation software just opening up an amazing world of art? Those tools combined with your creativity have resulted in remarkable work. Great job!
it's lovely!

Norma.. this is so quite awesome. The succulents here in Palm Springs are so great in the spring... I took some pictures of them, look at them often, now you have inspired me! Thank you...
