New Look

For those of you who follow my blog, or at least have been to my blog before, you may have noticed a new look.  I have decided to combine my website and blog into one Web/Blog.  My website was designed by Holly Knott four years ago and she did a great job.  I was so happy to have a web presence. I had every intention of having her update it every year, since I couldn't do it myself, but somehow I never got around to it and now it is so old that it is an embarrassment.

I am very comfortable doing my blog.  Blogger is so easy to use.  About a year ago they added a lot of new features allowing you to customize your blog, including adding "pages".  Those are the tabs that you see under my header. I've been having a lot of fun playing with the different colors, fonts, etc.  I have also changed my banner.  It is still a work in progress and it may look different tomorrow, who knows.  What I do like about this is that I can update my "pages" to add new work or take down things I no longer want to have up.  I can add that wonderful word, SOLD, when that rarely happens.

I will be adding more tabs or pages in the near future for different types of quilts, perhaps a price list, and an updated bio.

So what do you think?  Do you like the new look?  Have you taken over your website so that you can update it yourself?  I'd love to hear from you.

Hi Norma - wow I like the new look - its very clean and easy to follow. I've noticed a trend in blogs that they are getting more and more cluttered. I have to make sure mine doesn't get that way. I haven't thought about adding pages but maybe I'll do that too - makes it easy to find your finished work! Great job!

Look's good.....maybe I will combine mine too. While I own my domain name, I have never made a website....as I didn't know exactly how to go about it without spending more than I wanted to! L.

I like the new look!

I had a website through Mac but when they discontinued their service I had to figure out what to do - without any cash outlay.

I too am a happy Blogger user and decided to just point my domain name to my blog. It made sense for me and I'm glad I did it like that. I tired using a couple of "drag'n'drop" website builders and found them very lacking. This way my energy can go into a platform that I've used since 2006 and that I like to use.

Thank you Blogger!

I am so happy you tried this and pointed us to it! My old Mac web site has been eliminated and I have been dragging my feet about developing a new one to go with my blog. Now I will take a look at "Pages" and figure out how to incorporate my web page into my blog pages. Yippee!

I think yours is very appealing - has a warm welcoming feel to it. I like the index/tags that mark the pages... keeps things uncluttered. Good job!

Norma - It looks wonderful. Holly also did my website. I do have her update it, but infrequently. I have given some thought to combining my blog and website in the past, but now you have given me more to think about.I like your tabs across the top.

Norma, I am very impressed with your web/blog. I loved the tabs and seeing your different work. It is easy to navigate and I think that it looks like a web-site. Very nice indeed. Maggie Winfield

Good for you! I like the new look and it still feels enough like your website to be consistent with "your brand", if you know what I mean.
