I am very fond of Pansies. They remind me of my mother, who always had them in her garden and they are one of the first harbingers of spring. They are the only plants that you can safely plant in April here in CT and not have to worry about frost. I always have a pot or two on my front porch and I'm usually the first one in my neighborhood to do so. Unfortunately they don't last forever and they really don't like the heat. Around the middle of June they start to get very leggy and that's when I pull them out of the pot and replace then with annuals that will bloom until frost in the fall. However, there were enough flowers on them to make a few little bouquets to put on my kitchen windowsill. Happy flowers!
